Music; Food for the Soul

Through personal experiences I have found that the harmonious notes strung together to make a beautiful melody can replenish the soul in ways that are incomprehensible. And it is not just the soul which it can fill with healing, but your whole being, your body and all that’s within it. A magnificent way to escape the trying times of life is to listen to music and allow it to take you to places unknown. And it does not matter what type of music, as long as it can put your spirit at ease is all that truly counts. Everyone has different tastes in music, so therefore it is what you know that can take you to a place of peace and tranquillity. I have discovered quite recently to listen to instrumental pieces, as opposed to lyrical pieces of music. The reason being is that you can then put your own words to the harmony in which you are hearing, and in turn this helps your imagination to take you above and beyond what was initially anticipated when this beautiful music was first being created. Majority of your time on earth will be influenced by someone else’s impressions that have subsequently been imprinted upon you.

The wonderful thing about music is that it exists everywhere and nature creates the best forms of it. If you take the time to listen you can and will hear what ‘beauty’ actually is. No words needed just pure bliss of serene pleasant pure and clear sounds of the earth. And even if instrumental pieces have been constructed by man, they too have the ability to evoke this same knowing and feeling.

But not to take away from the lyrical masterpieces that have been created over the test of time, for they too have impacted lives in ways and means of astronomical depths and measures. I have a true passion for all things music, so I am pleased to say that my life has consisted of powerful, heart-warming, breathtaking, magical and unbelievably creative works of art that have been created by musicians everywhere. I am an artist in my own right, so I feel I can be relatable on such matters as this, even though my medium is preferably a pencil or paintbrush. But like this quote states:

‘’A painter paints pictures on canvas. But musicians paint their pictures on silence.’’

And on that note, I just want to say to you, allow music to nourish, heal and fill your soul up with all things sounding good and great!
